I’ve got some big news for you today everypony. Seriously major news. Epic news.

Bunker Inter-Sector Teleporter

I’m beyond ecstatic to announce that principal level design production is complete for Gardens of Equestria: This Coming Storm.

2016-02-16_00009

So I hear you asking, “What the heck does that mean?!”

Well, settle down. I’m about to tell you.

It means that the Appleloosa Valley and 70+ levels of GoE: This Coming Storm have all been structurally completed, decorated with the proper aesthetic, refined for gameplay and more. Containers have been added for weapons. Shields and forcefields are up. Massive complex machinery has been installed.

The closest analogy is when principal filming is complete for a movie. While there’s a ton of work that goes into any movie after filming is complete (audio, special effects, music, etc, etc), it’s still a major milestone. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve still got a long way to go, but this is a big deal. In celebration, we’ll be releasing a new environmental preview trailer in the coming weeks. You might even get a glimpse of some of the secret areas I haven’t revealed yet!

The command center of Security Redoubt 43-A

So get hyped people.

20160422231341_1

In fact, here are a few things to help you with your hype! Check out what’s been done already with our first two Environmental Preview Trailers!

And that leads us to part two of today’s post: recruitment!

We have immediate openings on our Technical Team for scripters. Scripters are what make the game really happen. They’re the ones who control the dialogue, the quests and the encounters. They work hand and hand in making the world of GoE real.

If you have any experience with game design (specifically Skyrim, Fallout 4, New Vegas or Fallout 3), especially with quest design, scripting, encounters or anything similar, please let us know by heading to our Recruitment Center.

We need your help folks. If you want to see GoE sooner rather than later, it’s time to pitch in and make this game!

That’s all for this week folks. See you in two weeks!

-NI

P.S. I’m also looking for beta readers (otherwise known as pre-readers) for a couple stories that don’t involve GoE or FO:E at all. If you’re interested, hit me up in the comments! Time for you folks to see that I can write. 😉

Good afternoon everypony!

(Okay, I just realized that by the numbering scheme I had, this is actually #29, however, there were a few I didn’t label at the beginning, so this is #30 in my head. So it’s now reality)

Can you believe I’ve written thirty of these things? (Yes, I’ve written every one). And to think, all this started from an injury I sustained one year and two weeks ago. It’s amazing how life’s little twists end up sending you in a totally different direction. I never thought I’d become part of the FO:E Community. Hell, to be honest, I always liked the Elder Scrolls over Fallout (Fantasy is a bit more my typical fare).

But now I get a little thrill when I’m scanning through the Reddits and see someone else mention the Manehattan Project and GoE. Heck, the FO:E Reddit Mods decided to even give us our own special “flair” (which I love and am extremely grateful for).

So before we get to the good stuff, I want to thank everyone on the FO:E Reddit and the FiMFiction FO:E Forums for their support. A very special thank you to Kkat for some desperately needed encouragement during the launch of Smuggler’s Run in summer during “The Weekend of The Troll.”

(Speaking of which, we had a minor update to Smuggler’s Run that finally fixes the issue with the Stable 2 barding, so go check it out it you haven’t already!)

But more than anything, I want to thank the Manehattan Project team, both past and present. Especially the past ones. It’s bizarre. I can actually see the finish line from where I’m standing. It’s still a ways off…but it’s there. And that’s due to the incredible talent who have decided (for some crazy reason) to throw their hat into this insane project that started from a concussion.

…you know, that explains a lot.

Anyhoo! Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?

First, I’m happy to announce that we have new artwork for you!

That’s right, Blue Nova has been hard at work with a brand new replacement for the classic “Courage Today, Victory Tomorrow” poster. And I have to say it looks freaking awesome. Derived directly from Kkat’s original description in Fallout: Equestria, I’m present “You Too Can Be a Steel Ranger!”

Steel Ranger Recruitment - Backlight Lightbox VariantSteel Ranger Recruitment – Backlight Lightbox Variant

Pretty freaking sweet right? This guy’s awesome. Seriously, epicly, amazingly, awesome. You can check out his dA here!

In case you’re curious, here’s the “original” from Fallout. The above picture will be the replacement for both GoE 1 for Fallout: New Vegas and GoE 2 for Fallout 4.

Second bit of news for you: THE FALLOUT: EQUESTRIA (MANEHATTAN EDITION) AUDIOBOOK

Now, I know we’ve dropped the ball on this one. I stopped posting the YouTube versions because I found a fair amount of flubs, repeated lines and errors in our version. With all that’s going on, the audiobook went by the wayside. But I wasn’t satisfied with the quality. You see, I’ve been listening to Audible audiobooks for years and years and years now, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to audiobooks. I wanted to give that same sort of experience. So I’ve listened to the book multiple times, taken notes and found every error (I hope). So next week, the fourth and final edition of “Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition)” will be released!

This one will have many fixes (including removing that obnoxious “Footnote: Level Up” comment in the middle of Chapter 37). Every repeated line that I could find will be removed. We’re also including Corvus’s “This Coming Storm” song at the end of the Epilogue, just as Kkat originally intended as DJ-PON3’s last song before the Afterword. I’ve also redone the opening and ending (even going to the point of including my version of “Audible hopes you’ve enjoyed this broadcast” at the very end for those of you who have listened to Audible titles).

The current plan is for the entire MP3 and M4B (Audiobook) formats to be released concurrently. I will be taking down all of the previous YouTube videos and replacing them with the updated versions. It will likely take me a bit to get all of those set up (That takes a TON of processing time, because they are actually movies).

But now, there should be no more delays and no further updates. So if you haven’t had a chance to listen, next week is the time to start.

Finally, we’ve reached a major milestone here at the Manehattan Project.

As you may or may not know, I am our story scriptwriter. The only one, actually. Every line of dialogue and every action has been written by yours truly. Just yesterday, I finalized the last conversation in the Epilogue for Gardens of Equestria: This Coming Storm. While the general draft of this was done quite a while ago, there were some holes that needed to be filled.

So last weekend, I went through 80,000 words of dialogue. (Yes, you read that right). That’s longer than the first Harry Potter novel. That’s how much dialogue we will be recording just for GoE 1 alone. I cannot say how happy this makes me to say that I’m done with the story. Don’t worry, you’re going to love it. You have my money-back guarantee! (Which is convenient since all of this is completely free)

That’s it for this week folks. Look forward to the fourth and final edition of Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition) coming next week!

Until then, have fun and stay safe!

Good morning everyone!

Novel Idea here with a surprise Tuesday-edition post. We here at the Manehattan Project decided we wanted to do a little something to celebrate Fallout 4’s release. While we are still in development of GoE: This Coming Storm for Fallout: New Vegas, GoE: Racing Apotheosis for Fallout 4 is definitely on our minds today.

While we’re not ready to share details about some of the great features we have planned in GoE 2 for Fallout 4, we couldn’t let this day go past without a little something. So today, we’re releasing the next two chapters in the YouTube edition of the Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Project) audiobook. But that’s small change.

The big one is that we’re revealing the ambient score for the Topaz Lake area and levels today!

You’ll likely notice that we have a new and much cleaner style for our music sketch videos designed by Novel Idea. We’ll be updating our other videos soon with this new format and hopefully more! Our music, as always, is from the incredible talent of Corvus.

So today, enjoy your adventure in Fallout 4 and don’t forget to check back Thursday for the next three installments of “Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition)!”

Good afternoon everypony!

I’m sorry to say that I don’t have anything quite as exciting as two new Environment Preview Trailers this week. After all, we can’t show you everything we have in store. That would make us a big old surprise-ruiner (See “The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows.”) To be honest, I’m at about 50% of Pinkie Pie crazy with some of the secrets we have in store. Seriously, it’ll blow your mind. To the best of my knowledge, many of the things we’re doing have never been done before!

As an aside, can I just say that I was happy about a zany Pinkie Pie episode? I’m still trying to recover from the emotional roller coast of “Crusaders of the Lost Mark.” Seriously, the CMC won Season 5 hands down.

Anyway, all this crazy new stuff is also why it’s taking so dang long! But we want this to be done right, so we’re going to do it right. Don’t worry, GoE 2 for Fallout 4 will still happen. The expected launch date of the Creation Kit is next year anyway. So we have plenty of time before the modders start reassembling Boston.

Speaking of which, if you have a good Ponified name for Boston, let’s hear it. Because I got nothin’.

So first thing’s first. If you haven’t seen the new Environment Preview Trailers, shame on you! But that’s okay because you can rectify that error right now!

So we don’t have a lot to share at the moment. We’ve had a bit of a hiatus lately while many of us have been dealing with a great deal of real life stuff (myself included). However, I’m very happy to say that it looks like some folks who needed some time away are coming back. And I don’t know if I mentioned this before, but we have a new major player on the team!

It’s none other than Cranky4, the creator of “My Little Pony: New Vegas is Magic!” Seriously, I’m psyched to have him on the team. I remember when I first saw his mod my response was “Hey?! Why can’t we have that guy!?” And then he applied. It was fate. ^^

Okay, now I know I haven’t been great at the whole three a week audiobook thing on YouTube and I’d like to apologize. Believe it or not, it’s harder to put together than it looks. It’s also somewhat time consuming. But we’re fixing that now! So have three!

That’s all for this week folks. Have a wonderful day and stay safe out there!

Hello everypony! Novel Idea here with a very special update for you and some really cool new treats that we’ve been saving just for today.

First thing’s first though. I’m sorry to say that we will not be able to release Gardens of Equestria: This Coming Storm before the launch of Fallout 4.

As to why, let me start by saying the launch date annoucement of Fallout 4 caught us somewhat off-guard. We were expecting Q1 2016 or something similar. Suddenly we found ourselves in a time crunch. The Directors took a long look at the project and decided that we would split things apart. This was the beginning of GoE: This Coming Storm and GoE: Racing Apotheosis.

We didn’t want to focus everything on Fallout 4 as we already had an enormous amount of work already invested in the Fallout: New Vegas GoE experience. It was work that couldn’t transfer to Fallout 4.

Now we could have just taken everything we had, thrown some random enemies in there for you to shoot and just call it a day. But we promised you a story-driven experience and we wanted to honor that.

Now, a few weeks before the launch of Fallout 4, we wanted to show you what we’ve been working on for all these months.

So today, I’m very happy to reveal to you not one, but two Environment Preview Trailers! Set to the score of our in-house master of musics, Corvus, you’ll get to see a lot more than screenshots. We have a full ten minutes of previews of just some of the levels you’ll be exploring and fighting through in “This Coming Storm.”

But wait, there’s more! In Trailer 1, we’re covering the Appleloosa Valley Entrance, the Overlook, Topaz Lake, New Appleloosa and the Primm Basement. In Trailer 2, you’ll be seeing Stable 16 and the Rock Farm exterior along with the Rock Farm Sector 0 and Sector 1. Please note that all of these levels are works-in-progress so there are a few hiccups here and there.

These are only about half the levels we have in store for you! We still have the lower levels of the Rock Farm, all of Stable 207 and the Gateway Research Facility. We are structually done on about 95% of all levels and we’ve created the scripting for the prologue and the first three chapters. We’ve also got a fair amount of recording done for our characters.

While we’re not at a point when we can pin down an exact release date for you yet, we will let you know as soon as we have something.

If you like what you see, feel free to drop us a line at our here on our website, Nexus Mods with our preview mod, Smuggler’s Run, Twitter or on YouTube.

We’re also always looking for more talent. If this looks like something you want to be a part of, head on over to our Recruitment Page and let us know!

Next week we’ll be getting up the next few chapters of the “Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition)” audiobook as well. We will also be releasing our fourth and final edit of the audiobook in the near future.

Until next week, stay safe out there!

Good afternoon fillies and colts!

Novel Idea here. I know we’ve had some quiet weeks in the last couple months. Well today, we’re going to make up for that. And then some!

Today I am very proud reveal remastered editions of the Smuggler’s Run theme and brand new music from the Mysterious Cave level, the Appleloosa Valley worldspace and finally, The Rock Farm, Sector X!

Please remember that all of these are in development so they may change before release.

In addition, I have some gorgeous new screenshots for you from Appleloosa Valley! With the help of the Nexus Mod Authors, it’s finally shaping up to be something really cool. Here’s a few shots of some various areas, including the Rock Farm and the Overlook.

I hope you enjoyed this special preview. We’re also releasing the next three chapters of the Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition) audiobook on YouTube today!

Have a great day and stay safe out there folks!

We have a nice little treat for you this week in apology for us missing last week.

For those of you who have read Fallout: Equestria…this might look somewhat familiar. And it’s just a hint of what’s to come.

Be Strong

Just a teaser. Nothing more. ^^

We’re continuing to work diligently on GoE. We’re currently in the midst of implementing the massive amount of scripts required for GoE to become what we really want it to be. In addition, I personally have been finalizing the final level of Gardens of Equestria: The Gateway Research Facility. Here’s a bit of information about the GRF:

The Gateway Research Facility is one of the unique structures in Gardens of Equestria, special because it exists on both the Earth and Equestria side. On Earth, the GRF was built using reverse-engineered advanced technology. It was designed as both a bulwark and a research facility and hosts some of the most advanced technology the USA ever developed.

On the Equestria side, it was a Ministry of Arcane Sciences facility designed specifically to study the spellwork of none other than Starswirl the Bearded. Unlike the Rock Farm, which was built primarily by the MWT (though funded by both the MAS and the MWT), the GRF was a top-secret facility run only by the very elite of the Ministry of Arcane Sciences. Equipped with advanced camouflage talismans, it was one of the few facilities that the enemy never knew about.

What became of the GRF after “The Incident” will be for you to discover on your own. But here, you will find yourself in the midst of a war that threatens to destroy two worlds.

To be honest, I’m having a ton of fun with this. It’s completely different and it definitely works.

On another note, we’re still looking for qualified scripters to join the team, even at this late junction. If you have some scripting experience, especially in modding, the GECK or something similar, please let us know!

In addition, we’ll be releasing the next few chapters of Fallout: Equestria on YouTube shortly. You can find out playlist here:

Until next week folks, have fun and stay safe out there!

Good afternoon everypony!

Novel Idea here again just to do a quick status update. We’re all hard at work right now recording lines, designing levels, writing scripts and all sorts of fun game design stuff.

I do want to mention a couple cool things in development. While we’re not quite ready to reveal screenshots yet, I’m happy to announce that the “Rarity-Designed Armored Dress” will be available in-game as a special upgrade for Velvet Remedy along with an alternative for female players! Not only that, but we have a completely redesigned “Velvet’s Lab Coat” complete with Ministry of Peace saddleboxes! There will be the Velvet Remedy version along with a version for both male and female players. (A special thanks for Wolfie for his undying hard work on both of these projects!)

Both of these are custom-made items which will be transferred into “Racing Apotheosis” for Fallout 4! (Barring any technical difficulties by using a different version of the GECK.)

We’ve also crossed several internal milestones in regards to the brand-new handcrafted (Literally. Every object in here was placed by hand, including most of the landscaping) worldspace, Appleloosa Valley, a verdant remnant of the Pre-War past dominated by the massive Rock Farm R&D lab. While it’s not quite ready for reveal yet, we’re getting very close to the point where we can finally show off this area to you, perhaps in a new exploration trailer! (No ETA on that though. ^^)

We’ve all had our nose to the grindstones lately, so we haven’t had time to do any big special features to show you. Please note that we have fixed the Manehattan Recruitment Center form, so you should be able to apply again without getting lost in the system. If you applied for a position and have not heard back from us, please apply again soon!

But just like every week, we’re releasing the next three chapters of the Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition) audiobook on YouTube. You can check it right here!

Until next week, stay safe out there!

[Sorry about the confusion folks, but it appears the interwebs ate our last post!]

Calling all musicians! We at the Manehattan Project are currently in development of a story driven Fallout: New Vegas mod the Gardens of Equestria, and are now accepting music submissions for our in game radio station! If you’ve ever wanted to hear your music featured in a video game setting, now could be your chance!

My name is Corvus, and I’m the Music and Audio Director for the Manehattan Project. For the past few months, I’ve had my hands full composing soundtrack music for GoE. Attached to this blogpost will be a rough work in progress example of some of the soundtrack music that will be played in-game.

Traditionally, the radio stations in the Fallout games have been limited to a handful of period songs that repeat over and over. We’re hoping to break out of this style. We want all sorts of musical styles, new and old, to be represented in GoE! Be it rock, hip hop, jazz, country, or even electronica, we want it represented on our radio station! Submissions can, but are not required to be pony related. If you’re interested in submitting music to us, send an email addressed to Corvus to manehattanrecruitment@gmail.com with either an attachment or link to 1-3 candidates.

You can find a current listing of all featured Gardens of Equestria: This Coming Storm Music by following this link here.

—From the Desk of Novel Idea—

[[WARNING: FOURTH WALL BREACH DETECTED]]

You’ll have to excuse the broken fourth wall. I’ve spent all week slaving away on GoE.com V2.0 and have not gotten nearly amount of sleep I should have, so I haven’t gotten to fixing it. But today, all that effort has finally born fruit.

Fillies and colts, welcome to Gardens of Equestria Version 2.0!

This day has been months in the works. I’ve designed an all-new series of special logos, artwork and much more for this new site. But there are a couple things you should know.

First of all, we flipped the switch on this new site around midnight last night. As such, there’s a system called DNS servers (which you may or may not be familiar with) that are occasionally kicking folks back to the old site. If you see the old design, just click the back button or try again later. Any of these issues should be resolved by Saturday.

Second, there’s still a bit of fine-tuning left in the site, specifically on the graphics on the new Locations page. Don’t worry, I’ll be fixing that within the next day or two.

But most importantly, if you’re interested in seeing what’s next for GoE and the Manehattan Project and want to keep appraised of what’s going on, head over to our brand-new forums and register! Drop by the general discussion page and introduce yourself!

While I’ve posted in the forums about our new features, I’ll also give you them right here!

We’re just getting started here, so mind the dust. Please, take a look around and don’t be shy.

Here’s some of the highlights of the new features of our revised website:

That’s right folks, we’re also releasing the MP3 version of Fallout: Equestria (The Manehattan Edition) today along with the first three parts of Fallout: Equestria on YouTube!

So keep a close eye on things. Because we’ve got much more in store!

We also have a lot more announcements, including some new team member and some final casting decisions. But we’ll be exploring that next week. If you’re interested in getting to know a little bit more about the folks behind The Manehattan Project, check out our staff page!
